Carbon Engineering is happy to announce that two new board members have joined our growing team. We extend our welcome to Jim McDermott and Dan Friedmann, and are excited to have their expertise as we tackle the next phase of commercializing our direct air capture and AIR TO FUELS technologies.
Jim is the Managing Director at Rusheen Capital Management, and has previously led the US Renewables Group, was the co-founder of Stamps.com, and has been involved at the executive and board levels of several other ventures. Jim has a wealth of experience in financing clean energy and clean fuels projects, having most recently been involved with Fulcrum Bioenergy’s $280 M waste-to-fuels facility in Nevada.
Dan Friedmann led MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates (MDA) as CEO from 1995-2016. MDA is well known as Canada’s leading aerospace equipment company, and during Dan’s tenure MDA saw a 19-fold growth in revenue and a 35-fold increase in market capitalization. Dan led the company through numerous projects involving satellites and space equipment, and helped launch the company’s Property Information Business unit.
“Both Dan and Jim bring a wealth of experience to CE, and at a very critical time in our growth”, said Adrian Corless, CEO. “We couldn’t have picked two better business leaders to help us build our commercialization and business strategies to get our AIR TO FUELS technology into market. Dan and Jim’s involvement has already added energy and perspective to CE’s growing team, and we’re excited to have them on board”.
