Andrew brings more than a decade of research experience in small molecule activation, catalysis, and clean energy applications to Carbon Engineering, where he leads a multidisciplinary research team of scientists and engineers to develop next-generation Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. He holds a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of California, San Diego where he studied electrocatalytic CO2 reduction within the Joint Center for Artificial Photosynthesis (JCAP). He spent several years developing Direct Air Capture technology in Carbon Engineering's Advanced Development team before advancing to his current role.

Kathleen brings nearly 10 years of laboratory experience to Carbon Engineering (CE) where she and her team of technicians are responsible for developing and validating test programs at the Innovation Centre based in Squamish, British Columbia.

Prior to joining the CE team in 2018, Kathleen's work focused on analysing indoor air quality, asbestos, microbiology, metals, and formaldehyde in an environmental lab. Kathleen holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry and Environmental Science from University of British Columbia.

Mo brings 10+ years of process simulation and modeling expertise to Carbon Engineering (CE), where his team plays an essential role in analysing and modeling CE Direct Air Capture (DAC) process data to advance and improve the core technology. Prior to CE, he spent all his career developing and delivering high-fidelity multi-purpose dynamic simulation (MPDS) solutions for top tier clients in the oil and gas and chemical industries.

Mo earned his B.SC. in Polymer Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) and Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa.

Janna brings 25+ years of experience in process engineering and project management to her leadership role as Director of Engineering at Carbon Engineering (CE), where she oversees the governance, process safety, and multidisciplinary technical teams that turn CE's research advancements into pilot, demonstration and commercial project plans.

Prior to CE, Janna has held several senior roles across the energy, forestry, and industrial sectors, managing major capital projects—including LNG infrastructure, pipeline remediation, biomass systems, and pulp and paper processes—and providing expertise in process modeling, safety, and operational optimization. She also serves on the Nanaimo Airport Commission Board of Directors and represents Canada as a Technical Committee Member supporting the International Organization for Standardization, developing international standards for carbon capture and storage (ISO/TC 265).

Janna holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Management Science from the University of Waterloo, where she was recognized as an Academic All-Canadian. She is also a licensed Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC and maintains her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. 

Toby brings 15+ years of experience in technical project management and operations delivery to his role at Carbon Engineering (CE) where he is responsible for overseeing all operations activities across CE's facilities.

Since beginning his time with CE in 2018, Toby has led commissioning and operations activities for CE's lab and bench scale facilities, as well as the Carbon Engineering Innovation Centre built in 2021. Prior to CE, Toby spent nearly 10 years in the Royal Air Force as an Engineer Officer including serving in various leadership roles across bomb disposal, explosives safety, battlefield helicopter, and VIP/air transport operations worldwide. He holds a M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southampton.

Allan brings 20+ years of experience to his role as Process Engineering Manager at Carbon Engineering (CE), where he is responsible for overseeing Innovation Centre operations and supporting the execution of CE's wider technology development program. Prior to CE, Allan was most recently Director of Operations at SNOLAB, an expansion of the original Nobel prize winning Sudbury Neutrino Observatory. The SNOLAB facility is a deep underground, astroparticle research laboratory that focuses on fundamental physics research such as dark matter searches and studying neutrinos. In his role, he led the operations and infrastructure team and supported the design, construction and operation of the industrial scale physics experiments an ultraclean environment in a deep underground mine, which presented unique challenges.

Allan earned his Bachelor degree of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. He also served as President and Co-Founder of ARC Climbing and Yoga – a established and growing a climbing community in Northern Ontario – for more than a decade before joining the Squamish community.

Elle brings more than a decade of experience to her role as Facilities Supervisor at Carbon Engineering (CE), where she leads the administrative teams across all company sites. With a passion for clarity, structure, and connection, Elle has worked in fast-moving teams across startups, research environments, and purpose focused organizations.

Her background is also uniquely shaped by years of captaining her own 40-foot sailboat, an experience that honed her ability to assess risk, adapt quickly, lead calmly, and keep people aligned toward a shared goal while scanning the horizon for what's next.

Stephen brings 18+ years of engineering and project management experience across infrastructure, mining, and water treatment industries to his role at Carbon Engineering (CE). As Manager, Capital Projects, within CE's Engineering & Projects team, Stephen directs the execution and construction of projects that enable CE's R&D and operations in Squamish.

When he first joined CE in 2018, Stephen served as an engineer in the original pilot plant before moving into his role managing construction and commissioning for the Innovation Centre. Today, Stephen's role within the leadership team is to steward plans into projects, aligning scope, safety, schedule, and spend with business objectives and project management best practices.

Prior to his current role, Stephen's experience as an entrepreneur led to innovation in freestyle ski and snowboard airbag technology, keeping athletes safe as they push the limits of what's possible. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Integrated Engineering from the University of British Columbia, a multidisciplinary degree with a focus on Materials and Chemical Engineering disciplines.

NaTai brings over 30 years of experience working in the Sea to Sky community across technical, operational, and leadership roles. His background spans customer service, millwright work, supervision, senior management, and system design, supported by strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

Before joining Carbon Engineering (CE), NaTai maintained, improved, and managed one of the largest snowmaking systems in North America, driving reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement at scale. After joining CE as a Millwright, NaTai quickly transitioned into a Coordinator role, where he supports daily planning, team efficiency, and safe execution of work, while helping advance and maintain critical technologies. Family-focused with three children, NaTai enjoys Squamish's great outdoors through hiking, biking and kayaking.

Caroline brings over two decades of experience advancing capital-intensive clean energy technologies from early research through commercialization. At Carbon Engineering, she provides strategic direction for the company’s next-generation liquid direct air capture platform, integrating intellectual property, process systems engineering, and technology development to position first-of-a-kind systems for durable deployment.

Previously, Caroline served as Director of Research and Development at the National Research Council of Canada, where she led a $77M advanced materials research facility shaping national low-carbon fuels and electrification portfolios. Earlier in her career at Mercedes-Benz, she advanced high-voltage battery technologies and contributed to the scale-up of fuel cell systems from prototype to series production. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering and a Master’s degree in Metals and Materials Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

Drew serves as an Operations Trainer at Carbon Engineering, where he focuses on operational excellence and supporting the training and readiness of future plant operators. In addition to operating CE’s systems for over 5 years, he brings hands-on experience across oil and gas exploration, drilling operations, and industrial plant systems.

Since joining Carbon Engineering in 2020 as a Plant Operator, Drew has supported the final stages of pilot plant operations, as well as the commissioning and ongoing operations of the Innovation Centre. This includes supervising operations teams for several years, contributing to safe and reliable plant operations during a critical phase of development. Prior to his work at CE, Drew began his career in exploration drilling, working on both traditional automated drilling rigs and specialized prototype rigs designed for helicopter transport, contributing to complex operations in challenging environments. 

Sachi brings 10+ years of experience in Intellectual Property (IP) to Carbon Engineering (CE). As an Intellectual Property (IP) Analyst, he supports the protection of innovations developed through the company's R&D programs, the secure management of sensitive information within and outside the organization, and delivering training to employees and contractors.

Prior to joining CE in 2021, Sachi held a variety of IP-focused roles serving individual inventors, universities, and multinational corporations. His work primarily centered on conducting patentability searches and drafting patent applications across a range of diverse technological areas.

Sachi holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, where he specialized in Microelectronics and Power Systems.
